The Future Depends On What You Do In The Present
Are you worried, sad, scared, or too often mad about your life, work or relationships? Sometimes we can get so caught up in working hard, pleasing others, or even feeling so mad, guilty or worried all the time that we lose touch with our deepest selves. Then we don’t know what we really need from life, or how to get it.
I bring nearly 25 years of experience and a safe, caring, thoughtful presence to helping you sort out what really matters to you and what to do about it.
It can be really scary to turn to someone else, even an experienced professional for help. But if you have been trying to feel better on your own, and it hasn’t worked, that’s a sign that something inside you may be getting in your way. Perhaps the burden you are carrying is just too much to try to handle all alone?
Part of my job is to deeply understand what it is like for you to be you. This will help you to not feel so alone as well as to feel stronger and more hopeful about making things better. Together we can discover what you really need, and what might be happening inside you that stops you from being happier. This knowledge, along with the support from our relationship, will give you the clarity and courage to make the most of your life.
If you’re looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you’re just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you, in my Palo Alto therapy & counseling office, to achieve your goals.
Couples Therapy Palo Alto & Counseling
I care deeply and passionately about helping people live richer, more satisfying lives.
As part of my commitment to this I have been teaching and supervising other therapists for the past 20 years at a variety of locations both locally and nationally, so I have experience you can trust. My particular focus is helping other therapists deepen their empathy and understanding to the point where they really can see the world their clients are showing them, as if they are standing in that person’s shoes, looking out through their eyes. This empathy and understanding will help you to feel safer, no longer so alone, and better able to face the things causing you pain.
If you are having a hard time, and want to feel better, no matter what you are dealing with, I can help you. I have been helping people to gain richer fuller, happier lives for over twenty years. Give me a call so we can meet and get started. I can also refer my colleague, Kin Leung, MFT, who practices Couples Therapy Burlingame specializing in working with Asian Americans and their families.

For Other Therapists
I offer consultation, therapy and classes to other therapists. Therapists have the unique and yet difficult opportunity to choose among colleagues for their own therapy. I am honored that so many other therapists have chosen me to be their therapist. They know my reputation for deep, sincere compassion, thoughtfulness, caring, and great results.
I provide consultation, and if desired, ongoing supervision to licensed MFTs, LCSW’s, Psychologists, and Psychiatrists. After an initial meeting, we can continue to meet in person, or if that is geographically difficult we can work over the phone. Sometimes other therapists cover several cases with me to get my ideas on what are the core issues, and what treatment approaches would be most helpful. Others prefer to follow a single case in depth in order to master working deeply and effectively.
I also offer private classes in my office on a variety of topics, including recently: Trauma, Narcissism, Transference, Suicidality, Interpretaions, Attachment, Helpful Listening, Personality Disorders, Winnicott, New Theories in Treatment, Dreams, and more. Classes run 8 to 52 weeks.
